A series of anti-government tweets were posted on Safaricom's official Twitter account on the night of Wednesday, July 3, in not so palatable corporate language.

The Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), Musiliu Smith, stepped down from his position on Wednesday. The Commission’s Spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, confirmed his resignation to Daily Trust.
According to Ani, the former Inspector-General of Police who is expected to hand over to Retired Justice Clara Ogunbiyi representing the judiciary at the commission resigned on health grounds and the development was accepted by President Muhammadu Buhari.
